What We Do – Specialist Provision

Holme Court provides a rounded, enriching education that blends academic learning with extra‑curricular opportunities in a supportive, collaborative environment. We help every pupil discover their strengths by challenging, inspiring and equipping them with the skills needed for lifelong learning.

Our teaching is grounded in current research, high‑quality resources and measurable data. Every lesson, activity and approach is tailored to the individual, ensuring that each child can experience success.

At Holme Court, the school itself is the intervention. Personalised, highly targeted, specialist teaching is woven throughout the entire school day, creating a consistent and effective learning experience.

Who We Support

Holme Court caters for children aged 7 to 16 with dyslexia and specific learning differences, including Speech and Language Difficulties, Dyscalculia, Autism, Dyspraxia and Attention Difficulties.

Pupils flourish here. They grow in confidence, develop new skills, and build self‑esteem. They learn to celebrate their achievements and become increasingly equipped to meet the challenges of a changing world. Through daily routines, they develop enthusiasm for learning, resilience and self‑discipline

How We Differ from a Mainstream School

Holme Court is organised in a similar way to a mainstream school, but with the flexibility and specialist expertise required to adapt the curriculum and timetable precisely to each child’s needs.

With small class sizes of around 10 pupils and high staff‑to‑pupil ratios, we provide an intensive, interactive and highly responsive educational experience. This structure allows us to meet each learner exactly where they are and help them move forward with confidence.

Why Our Approach Works

Our provision is effective because it is rooted in evidence‑based practice. We use techniques identified by research as impactful and measurable, and we work closely with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to ensure a holistic approach.

Our aim is to equip learners with the tools, skills and strategies they need to thrive,  whether that leads to a successful return to mainstream education or progression to college.

Success for Your Child

Success looks different for every child, and at Holme Court we recognise and celebrate that. Our goal is to ensure pupils are able to:

  • Optimise academic performance Leading to increased self‑belief, enjoyment of learning, stronger relationships and wider opportunities for adult life.
  • Experience genuine happiness Supporting improved self‑esteem, positive relationships and a confident outlook that opens doors to future possibilities.
  • Develop meaningful friendships Enhancing wellbeing, academic outcomes and the ability to engage fully with the opportunities of a flourishing young adult.
  • Access a wider range of opportunities
