Holme Court School is proud to play an active role in supporting our local community. Each year, pupils create handmade Christmas cards for residents at Dennis Wilson Court Retirement Living, and we regularly contribute to local food banks, including Newmarket Open Door and St Andrew’s Church, Cherry Hinton.
As part of our enrichment programme, every class selects a charity to support throughout the academic year. Pupils take responsibility for planning and delivering their own fundraising activities, helping them to develop teamwork, initiative and social responsibility. This year, the chosen charities are:
In addition, the whole school takes part in wider charity fundraising events across the year.
Holme Court School also responds to national and international crises. We have made financial contributions to the British Red Cross and the Disasters Emergency Committee to support Ukrainian refugees and those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Alongside monetary donations, pupils, families and staff have contributed essential items such as clothing and toiletries, which have been sent directly through organised relief shipments.
